Psychotherapy and Healing

Healing is not for the faint of heart. It is a radical act of self-determination and resilience. I honor the courage it takes to step into the therapeutic space and face the complexities of your life with honesty and intention.

My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to social justice. I specialize in working with individuals navigating complex mental health challenges, substance use, and systemic barriers. Through a blend of psychodynamic insight, cognitive-behavioral strategies, dialectical behavioral therapy, and somatic awareness, I help clients untangle patterns that no longer serve them, fostering self-compassion and meaningful change.

I have extensive experience working with individuals involved in competency restoration, those impacted by the institutional circuit, and those experiencing homelessness. My work has led me to the intersections of mental health, addiction, and legal systems, where I provide therapy that is both pragmatic and deeply attuned to the realities of my clients’ lived experiences. I firmly believe that healing is not just personal—it is collective, and by reclaiming our narratives, we empower ourselves and our communities.

I am direct yet compassionate. I challenge my clients to examine their defenses and maladaptive patterns while providing the safety and support necessary for true transformation. I integrate humor, education, and relational depth into my work, recognizing that healing is not linear and that sometimes, growth comes from the spaces we least expect.

Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about education, advocacy, and mentorship. I also work as a graduate teaching assistant in the Social Work Department, helping future social workers deepen their understanding of practice models, and I have dedicated my career to supporting those often left at the margins.

Personally, I thrive in spaces of connection, learning, and exploration. I believe in the power of small joys—yummy tea, deep conversations, and books that broaden my horizons. My work is my passion, and I am honored to walk alongside those ready to step into their own healing.

If you are prepared to confront discomfort in service of your own liberation, I welcome the opportunity to work with you. I offer both in person and virtual therapy options. I am able to accept RMHP Medicaid and private pay with sliding scale. Please reach out to set up a free 20 minute consultation call!
